Hey there! My Name is Nancy Lee and I am the owner of a 1995 Mazda B3000 4x4 3.0l. I have replaced the Engine out of a 1998 Ranger and have also replaced the "slave cylinder" (what a b6&h that was) lol. However I cant wrap my head around some lighting /electrical issues I am having. So I come to you for advice. The problem is that I have no Panel lights after removing the instrument cluster to replace burned out bulbs. originaly only the bulbs that are around the speedometer and the RPM's were out. after installing new bulbs and checked to be working, reassembled the interior and now none of my panel lights are working. to clarify My ABS /Brake ect.. lights work when starting, but when I turn on my running lights I have no lights on the instument panel from the headlight switch over to the radio/heater. cant find blown fuses broken wires ect.. I might be able to swa an engine or drop a tranny but when it comes to Electrical, Well I am dumb as it gets. So please be gentle. LOL Thanks for your time .

Hi Nancy Lee, Welcome to TRS.
You may have more responses if you post your question in the "misc. electrical" sub-forum;
http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=54
and a search of the forum may turn up some answers.
Sorry I can't help personally, I'm the same as you with electrical.
Good luck,

Richard

Welcome to TRS Nancy~!

As Richard said, you will get better answers in the proper forum near the bottom of the list. I'm pretty new at electrical stuff myself but can usually fix most things after several tries, a few hundred dollars in parts that I don't need, and a whole whack of swear words that I probably should avoid.

Anyway, I recently replaced all the bulbs in my cluster after having a similar problem and managed to get all but one of them working. Your problem sounds more like either a short in the circuit or the switch as it appears that the lights work until you turn on the headlights. That to me sounds like the switch is bad or is shorting out...

If that doesn't help, there are many knowledgeable people that may have had similar problems...but they usually don't hang out in the introductions section...

Hope you find the problem fast!

thanks for the advice and directions

Thank you for your advice and redirect to the proper forum. Indeed the problem was in the instument cluster dimmer switch. All better now. thanks again
