I just got a 1994 Ranger that when I have the lights on the will randomly start flickering and it's not because of bumps because it will do it when I am sitting still........ Any ideas?

this is only the headlights..... the parking lights still are on

Odds are the multifunction switch is bad. That's the turn signal (and more) switch in the steering column; it's not hard at all to replace.

Mac;

If it's only the headlights, it's probably your head light switch. The switch has a built in rheostat to dim the dash lights, and this can generate a lot of heat. As the years go by, the heat starts to degrade the switch and connections. My truck is as old as yours, and I've had to change the switch twice.
