Lifting the Ranger


If you don't want a ridiculously stiff ride you can re-index the torsion bars. This was something I read about when working on a b2200. You mark the factory location where the bar goes into the control arm then turn and re insert. This method (if it works on these trucks) is supposed to make the ride stay the same just at a taller height.

Then shackle the rear followed by an alignment.
 
I cranked my torsions a full 2" (had to replace one bolt with a longer on to get that uch though) and I can comfortable 265/75/16's (31.5 or so) with no rubbing.

The torsion twist did level the truck, but now that it's level I I think it should have a little rake to it so I'll be putting shackles in the back. The original rake was 3" higher in the back so now I've got 1" higher in the back and to look right I'm going to shackle the back end up 1" which will leave me with a 2" difference.

No workie on a RBV. The RBV T-bars are indexed with a hex, the next position over would be WAAYY too high.
