Lifting my 97

did you use the sander on your rotors or have them cut at a shop? truck looks great by the way.

I used the sander. We will see how they work. If they dont work out, I have another set of rotors that actually look almost new that I will get turned to use instead.

Well, It's time to start cutting on the bumper. Update in about 12 hours.

Every time I go to move this bumper I am reminded how stupidly heavy I made it. Thank god I have this hoist.... Literally a back saver.

Torching out the support struts I added after bending the outer "wings".

Grinding away the rest of it. Nicked the base material with the gas ax.....

Cleaning off the crappy DIY bedliner. That stuff sucks and is the one of the few choices that I have regretted in this build so far.

Starting on laying out for the lights. This is a very slow tedious process to make it come out as good as possible.

Need to do some grinding to get the tube to fit perfect. I think this might be the lightest piece of material going into the truck so far. It is 0.80 wall tube. So far i havent used anything less than 1/8".

...I just went through the whole thread and I am totally amazed by your skills!! have fun finishing it!!

Then you must've meant .080" wall :icon_thumby:. Progress is coming along nicely as always. Keep up the good work!

your bumper will be stronger/better mounted if you use removeable corner struts to the frame anyway.

now i just need to bend out the corner of my rear bumper so i can get off my ass and make a full set for my truck

Depending on how the mounting setup for the lights works out, I may or may not do that. The problem with bolting it is that i need to drill holes into the bumper which I want to use as an air tank eventually.

MAJOR PROGRESS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

List of stuff to get tomorrow,

PS/Hydroboost lines..... maybe.
PS pump,
Belt, 1/2" longer to clear belt tensioner.

Found this little problem resulting from the slightly different PS pump location.
