lifting a car

Not gonna lie, those ghetto sleds kinda wet my whistle. But I wouldn't ever buy one or spend money to make one. Kinda the same with those mini trucks that are slammed to the ground.

This guy lives in Wichita Ks. I seen it around and thought it was just a show car..... then come to find out he goes down to Oklahoma and wheels it at Disney. 68 Firebird

from his info page :

Ride Description:
Hello, We got married in 1977 and got this car in 78, second owners for 29 years. The interior is perfect original, original dash, seats, just the carpet is new old stock. The body is a perfect rust free Firebird. In 1988 I converted it into a 4x4. It is not on a 4x4 frame, it is on the original Firebird subframe. If I wanted to I could pull this subframe and convert it back to a 2 wheel drive in two days,,, NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!. It has an International 345 torque monster out of a wheat truck, a 727 torqueflite, a geardrive D-20 transfer case , dana 44 axles with track-lock 4.11s, 33X12.50s, 2.5" dual exaust, 40 series flowmasters, Mallory ignition. Installing a 4bbl throttle body and computer next week. We go rock crawling all the time at Disney Ok. It is BAAAAAAD on the rocks. It drives perfect and rides better than it ever has as a 2 wheel drive. It did a RTI # 907 at the Off-road Motorsports Halloween party ramp. i dont fit in the newer ones....but the 91-96 i can fit in.

if i find a nicer one down south i may get a 2.0 trans thats 410 fdr and run a 205 tire.

i hardly ever used it as it was too low, now i can use it a little more

Only problem is GM G-Body cars are not unibody. They were GM's last body on-frame production car...

Bah, a little welding and you can make anything work. :icon_welder:
