We're trying to install a 6" skyjacker kit into an 80's F-series with a TTB front axle, it is leafsprung. The kit has softride springs to lift the front as well as the shocks/pitman/drop brackets.

Drop brackets bolted up fine, front leaf packs are about 1-2" short eye to eye. Suggestions on flattening the pack to reach the eye holes?

Tried to just jack up the spring but its too stiff and lifts the truck, Tried a come-alone but the chain twists the leaf as it tightens. HELP!!!:dunno:

Maybe bolt one end in place, then take a stout piece of metal or wood and a few c clamps and use the clamps to flatten the springs against the metal or wood.

Heres a pic where the spring is blue, other metal or wood is black and apply the clamps at the red X's

I would call the lift manufacturer and ask them if this is a common problem. Maybe they sent you the wrong parts.:icon_confused:

No, its prolly the right parts. If you look at the stock springs they are bowed upwards where they hook to the axle, not like the rear springs that arch up.

later,
Dustin

actually all the stock springs i've seen on the 80s up to like 90-91 the springs arch down not up.
