The answer is 42.

You can go 5 blocks further with one kind.

It was also a tv show...

Hi Joey,
We have quite a helpful crew here.....tho with the info you didn't give they are probably as useful as anything else.

How about you give us some more info.
What exactly do you want to know about lifters and blocks?
It would also help if we knew what motor and years we are talking about.

on a 5.0 is the engine block different between a roller cam and non roller cam and lifters?

The answer is 42.

42 eh?

once upon a time (1975) I was in the NCO club at Vint Hill military reservation in northern Virginia.
don't remember why but somebody yelled out #42. 3 guys responded with cheers,,,seems they all had done business with the same hooker
near a base in Northern Thailand. ("me too" had a different meaning back then)

The lifter bosses are taller on a roller cam block and there are 2 threaded holes in the valley to hold the spider in place. You can get (expensive) drop in roller lifters to work in a non roller block or a retrofit cam with a smaller base circle. I'd go with the drop in lifters so you don't have to use high zinc oil or zddp additive to avoid cam wear.

Just having fun. Hope your son is ok.

I hope he's OK, I think about it every time my kid goes out.

It was just some ribbing until enough info was provided to answer.
