Lift types, body/Suspension?

the stock ranger blocks on 4x4's are 2.5" not 3"

Now mine may actually be a 2.5, i eyeballed it, and used my thumb to measure, i didnt have a measuring tape on hand.

Also is there a way to see if i had an Edge, or a Splash model?

If its, an Edge, it should say it on it somewhere, like the bedside i think. I believe Splash is the stepside.

I do have a stepside, but i don't have any badges saying that it is a splash

Also the reason I really made this post was to determine what size shocks i need. Here are the measurements, I was going to try 3 inch lift shocks. Because stock and 4x4 shock are to short at the fully extended length, 3 inches on regular ones and 1.5 or so on the 4x4

i took some measurements of shock lengths bushing to bushing

17 inches with the front wheel in the air

15.5 with it sitting under its own weight

14.5 with the rear wheels in the air, probably go with 14 though

now that was with the shock on, i just read that i should have done it with the shock off.

so if i go with extra 2 inches both way for safty travel i would have a 7 inch stroke.

and should have 12 in compressed and 19 fully extened with a 7 inch stroke. does that make sense? where can i find info to find a shock that matches?

I went out and ordered new shocks today, i ordered ones for a 3 inch lift, i couldn't keep on driving with blown shocks, hopefully it'll work

Why not take your shock up to the parts stor and compare them to maybe an F-150 shock or even a lifted shock ? That would help a little too.

As for an edge or splash, The splash was actually lower about an inch then a regular step side. And an edge would have some different styling to it.
