Lift types, body/Suspension?

Ill get you guys the Pictures of the front, I'll try tonight. If it does have a suspension lift its probably as old as the truck, The truck has no rust on it, but the wear and looks are the same all round, Also the front end is definantly sagging about an inch because the wheels camber in, (blown Shocks)

With 235/75R15 im sitting with a good 6 inches above my wheels. heres a picture

thats a stock front end...

Thats what im thinking. My problem is that stock shocks dont fit, they are 3 inches to short.

I had installed stock shocks but when i would jack up the front end the shocks wouldnt travel any further open than when it was sitting on the ground.

Now with these gas charged shocks, i could compress them, and then they would go back to there supposed resting position, but i couldnt pull them out at all.

are they supposed to be able to pull out also?

I dont want to go and install 2 or 3 inch lift shocks and have me drive over a big bump and have them blowning out because i bottomed them out.

Another question here, if my front end is stock, What would cause the front wheels to look like they have been pulled back towards the doors? they arent centered in the wheel well. ( in the picture of the white truck, the front wheels are straight not turned) if the body was 3 inches lower it would be extremely close to the wheels,

Also what is the stock wheel and tire size for this truck?

it might be possible that you have 4x4 or other aftermarket coils in your truck which would make the front end ride higher and closer to the limit of the shocks. (ill post this in your other thread too)

HiJack on,

so did any 2wd rangers come with rear lift blocks stock? we discussed 4x4s but forgot all about the case that this applies to.

HiJack off.

Now here i have an idea.

Do 4x4 I beams have any markings to make them different from 2wd I beams, Wait, 4x4's are straight axle arent they? Are There any other front end setups like mine that have a higher ride height than a stock 2wd ranger?

With the blocks in the rear of my truck, im 100% sure they are not orginal because when they were put in, they were put in place angled, and slighty off, i dont think ford would do that.

From looking at this picture my guess would be that the PO installed a set of F150 coils.

Have a look at your radius arm bushings. The washers should be near parrallel with the bracket, they go through.

Looks like you have about 3" lift with factory brackets.

How's the alignment?

Im not quite familiar with the radius arm bushings, ( bad with names ) what part is that?

Also my alignment is almost perfect, It drives straight and true in a parking lot. and on regular roads it pulls very slightly to the right ( the road curves down to the right )

hmm well it may be out of alignment then, i dont have any uneven or bad tire wear so for now ill leave it.

i took some measurements of shock lengths bushing to bushing

17 inches with the front wheel in the air

15.5 with it sitting under its own weight

14.5 with the rear wheels in the air, probably go with 14 though

now that was with the shock on, i just read that i should have done it with the shock off.

so if i go with extra 2 inches both way for safty travel i would have a 7 inch stroke.

and should have 12 in compressed and 19 fully extened with a 7 inch stroke. does that make sense? where can i find info to find a shock that matches?

HiJack off.

As is said before, the 4x2 Edge's have rear lift blocks like the 4x4.
