So I have a 98 Ranger with everything stock. I need new tires and am trying to make a decision. Eventually I want a suspension lift, but I am not going to be able to get one for a year or so. Is it worth it to get a body lift and 33s or just get 31s and wait till I can afford a suspension lift. O yeah it is a 3.0 manual so can that even handle some 33s?

whether it can handle 33s is a matter of what axle gears you have. also, dont forget that there is such a thing as 32" tires. you can also crank your torsion bars to lift it a little in the front.

Yeah I got a lovely 7.5" 3.73 Open. But we do not talk about that. I cranked my torsion bars, but i just want to know what people think a body lift now or wait for a suspension lift.

No. I used to have a 99 with the exact same driveline and it was a dog with the stock 235/75's. I wouldn't go bigger than 31's unless or until you can gear it. 32's you could maybe live with. I'd save up for a Superlift and 4.56 gears if you want 33's and do it all at once.

You didn't say what you have for wheels, 15" or 16", but the stockers are 7" wide so you can't go real huge on the tires anyway if that's what you're running.

15":
31x10.50-15
32x11.50-15 (a 15x8 rim would be better)
265/75-15 (31")

16"
265/70-16 (31")
265/75-16 (32")
285/75-16 (33", a 16x8 would be better)

Save your money, if its only going to be a year, if it was long term then i'd say get a B/L:)
