I was wondering if it would be possible to get either rough country or superlift 1.5" lift coils, throw .5" of washer under them, and achieve 2" of lift and get it aligned with 4 degree camber bushings. Would bump steer be a problem? If I swap in a D35 front while doing this, would I have to do anything to keep from smashing the bigger diff? Also, iirc, someone on here said you can get 31x10.5x15's on stock, so they should be no problem with these leveling coils right?

The 1.5" coils will give you 2" of lift due to the angle of the TTB arm and geometry of the suspension. But if after installing the coils and bushings you have a little bit of adjustment left on the bushing you could slide a washer or two under the spring to max out the camber adjustment, and get as much lift as you can. But I highly doubt you'll be able to lift it an additional 1/2".

I've gotten an additional 1.5" of lift from the washer mod...

SVT: does that mean you have lift coils plus 1.5" of washers? As I read through the spacer and coil options, it sounded to me like the degree of adjutment in the bushings is only a problem if you need to re use the factory ones (flip them around) I cant find to many people that for sure have lift coils and 4 degree bushings. For that matter, I cant even find a lot of people who run 2" of lift and 31's.

The adjustable bushings give you enough movement for 2" lift.I've had exlplorer front springs with and without shims. What I have in there now is 4" lift springs with the spring buckets raised 11/2" and longer shocks put in.The adjusters only change the 4x4 only 3.5 degrees.

My old truck ran 31x10.50 stock.
They rubbed on the sway bar (And probably will with only 2" of lift) so I just ripped it out. They also rubbed a tiny bit on the inside of the back wheel wells when the suspension bottomed out - a longer shackle or a small block in the back will fix that on the new truck.

edit - I also trimmed the fenders before I bought the tires, Im not really sure how necessary that would have been...

Hey thanks a lot for the picture, I've been looking for pictures of rigs with 2" lift and 31's, but I cant find too many good side shots. Also, I noticed that you have the auto tranny just like me. Will 3.73 be good enough for the road with light offroading. It looks like I'm not gonna get a D35, and I dont want to put lower gears in a 28/7.5 combo. I read about a lot of people running 33's okay with an auto ranger and 3.73's but not to many bronco's with 31's.

The truck in that picture is a 5speed... but the one I replaced it with is an Auto.
Right now my new truck has 3.73 gears, and is has plenty of power both on and off the road, but that is with stock tires. The old truck did well offroad, even with a blown clutch.

I have the 4.10 gears (actually, whole axles) going into it from the old truck when my 4" coils show up in the mail, at which point the 31s will get put on. The 3.73s are good enough for 31s, 33s would be pretty bad though. I also wouldn't run anything bigger than 31s on a d28.

Also that picture has no lift on it, just tires and fender trimming.

6" skyjackers with 1.5" coil spacers is what I'm running, and coincidentally my lift will be up for sale shortly...
