i am thinking about puting a 4 inch lift and 33 inch tires for offroading on my 89 ranger2.9 auto trans while using the stock 215s for daily driving. are there any issues with this plan that anyone has came across. any opions appricated

You'll likely need a 6" lift to fit those tires unless you want to start cutting fenders. I have 6" SkyJacker coils (softest TTB coils) on my '88 and the 31s on it rub.... It depends a bit on brand, but I would go 6" for 33s.

Also don't forget to re-gear. I'd go with 4.56s for 33s.
