Life of a 2005 Ranger

Any tips on no getting it out?

75k needs a serpentine belt going to take a stab at it. Any tips?

Heat suddenly stopped working (at about 85k mi). Going to try replacing the t stat.

try the blend door actuator module first

Idlers go, but it's uncommon and they rarely make a squeal when they die. It's usually more of a rough, rubbing sound, metal on metal kinda stuff. Belts squeal.
My idler pully seized and snapped off of its mount. I wasnt sure if it was my belt or that pully for about a week. I found out which it was about 2 blocks from work on a friday night. Burnt the shit out of my arm fishing that damn pully and the belt out from the front end of the truck.:icon_rofl:

Whoops already half done the t stat.

Wheres the door / how do I check?

The idler / belt still squiks in the mornings when its humid out.

strange...when my idler pulley went the bolt for it literally walked its self out of the hole and the pulley came off. I took the whole bracket off thinking the bolt broke only to find out all i had to do was screw the new one in...if the pulley is spinning that direction you think ford would have used a left handed thread?

Ok still no heat.

:(

And more good news. When I went for test ride it was hesitating a bit. I had cleaned the k&n filter and left the battery undone for a few days

Before I went for a test ride I rinsed grime off the battery. I hope I didn't damage something. I turned it off then back on and the engine light was on.

I'm getting codes p0113 and p0102.

Hopefully no big deal.

turns out I forgot to plug something back in to the airbox. truck running well now. going to check the blend door next. from what I've been reading you can fix it without removing the whole dash.

I'm back. The ranger now has 95k. I pulled the glove box and cut a hole in the blower plenum in order to manipulate the blend arm for hot or cold.

The trucks having trouble starting lately. Its not super cold here but there is moisture in the air and its cool.

The truck sat for about a week and I went to start it when it initially started then died. Waited a minute and cranked it over again and it wouldn't start. I waited another minute and cranked while giving some has and it started right up.

I think its tome for a tune up and was going to do a new set of plugs and wires. Other thoughts?
