License plate bracket?

I just moved from NC to IA. Bought my truck in NC which only has a rear license plate. IA has both a front and a back. I went to put the front plate on and found that the holes didn't match up (too wide on the bumper), and that the plate would be angled about 30 degrees to the ground. So, my question is threefold:

1. Is there a bracket for the license plate?

2. Does anyone sell them online, or am I relegated to a Junk Yard?

3. Or, does anyone have one they'd be willing to part with?

Thanks

Dan

There's a plastic license plate holder that probably went in the two holes your talking about. At least that's what my truck has. Going to a junk yard would probably be cheaper than online, although I don't know if you would break it pulling it off, I don't think they were meant to come off although you could try super glue or wiring it on if it breaks the mounting tabs. What year is your truck?

I zip-tied mine to my front bumper.

Just read your profile, your trucks the same year as mine.

Looks like your missing the plastic frame that the license plate goes onto. Finding one at a yard should be easy. Any 1993-97 should have the same bumper and therefor plate frame. Just take one off from the yards bumper and put it onto yours. Should be cheap, or even free depending on how your yard deals with small parts that no one really wants.

I lost my front plate (along with the bracket) just before New Year's. When I called around, I could only find a replacement for $60 from the dealer so I just drilled some new holes and mounted it directly to the bumper. It hangs pretty straight (maybe 10 deg back, looks good enough to be stock, IMO). Use washers and lock nuts and it should stay on pretty well.

So in answer to your three questions:
1. yes.
2. Dealer has 'em...about $60 up here. I couldn't find one in a junkyard.
3. not me.

I always take em off, probably have a couple laying around. Make me an offer.
John

my problem is, the rear plate covers my spare tire release hole, do they make a swing up holder?
