I've tried searching through this site and found nothing useful pertaining
to my task at hand meanwhile some of you Monkeys seem knowledgeable about Ford Rangers SO...

Lets try this again shall we?

Hi Kids. I'm new here and want to convert our 1994 Ranger,
(2.3L 4 cyl., Dual plug head, 5 speed manual trans. 2WD, Non A.C.)
from manual to power steering. I will be doing this with new,
(when possible,) and/or "re-manufactured", (More than likely,) parts.
We don't have any "Pick-a-part" yards or the like in our area so
finding an entire serviceable used system is very unlikely.

This is actually my girlfriends truck and she loves it but REALLY
wants power steering installed and has the $$$$ for the parts.

I can do the work, I've done power steering conversions on
several other vehicles of various makes over the years but
not a 1994 Ranger SO....

What I'm after here is help with the shopping list-O-parts that will
be required to make this all happen, (I've yet to locate a:
"1994 Ford Ranger power steering conversion kit" all neat and tidy
in one package. :D)

I know the obvious: Power steering pump assy., Power steering Box with
the correct pitman arm, Mounting bracket(s) for pump, pressure and
return hoses, the correct serpentine drive belt, and the misc. nuts,
bolts, clamps and what not to attach everything properly.

It's what I DON'T know that I have questions about.

For example: Do I need any other pieces parts such as different
steering column components? Different shaft length, number of splines
or any other nonsense for this conversion?

I just don't want to be half way through the job only to find out
that something is missing from the project making it all come to
a screeching halt and having to anxiously wait for more UPS trucks
to arrive at a later date with more stuff.

Can I please post this or will it be rejected again so you can all go
back to doing burnouts on your Principals front lawn because his daughter
wouldn't go to the Prom with you or what?:dunno:

You wont get any answers when you insult people you don't even know. You are new, you need to respect members.

:agree: You don't always get answers, I've looked myself and found nothing on conversions kits, what your going to need to do is search craigslist or something simular for a cheap ranger with powersteering and pull everything from it. Nothing is going to be handed to you, you may half to get off your butt and go for a little drive out of the way and look.

Here ya go Old man this should get ya started:

Honestly couldn't see anyone wanting to help you when you are being disrespectful and a straight up punk like this. Good luck is all I can say, gotta go now. Gotta go do some burnouts in my principal's lawn.

Ouch. What a douche.

Anyway, it sounds like you have it covered....

You will need the steering shaft, as Manual vs Power have different splines going into the box....

When your not a completely disrespectful asshole you will get a ton of help from many people. MODS IM REQUESTING A TEMP BAN FOR THIS GUY PLEASE:ban:?! Maybe try asking a question politely huh?

Lighten up a little bit guys! He might be a "Little Bit" rough in his attitude, hope it would change. Give him help that he needs/wants. I was affended by him calling us here "Monkeys" and then saying "Hi Kids". Hell, I'm old enough to almost be his father. Guess it takes all kinds, thought the older we got, the thicker our skins got.

Oh, he's just being humorous.

Tell her keeping the Armstrong steering is a cost saving measure--it's cheaper not to replace it and it's cheaper than a gym membership. In fact, as her arms develop you will be back on here asking how you can add resistance into the system.
