Has anyone ever had their first name changed? I'm trying to find out how difficult and expensive it would be for me to have mine changed.

i had a friend that changed his first name...i think he had to augusta or portland...not remeber...but it is not that bad of a process....then he had to go to the dmv to have his licence changed

It's Josiah, and I want it shortened to Joe.

I used to just go by Joe, but in the military, my name is all over everything, and so people see my real name and keep using it to piss me off. I hated the name before, but now I have to endure people constantly asking me if I'm Amish.

lol, well, a name change is not going to change that for the people who already know...

personally, I would keep it, and when people ask for your name, just tell them Joe.

All you really need Josiah for is legal documents.

Also think about how upset this will make your parents, who gave long thought over what to name you...

Mine is Jeffrey. I don't have anything against it really, I have just never used it. I have always been Jeff. 99.95% of the people I know have no idea I'm a Jeffrey and no one cares. I answer to either.

I dont like my name but a nickname is alot cheaper than getting it changed. My name is Dustin but everyone just calls me Midget and I mean everyone friends,family,coworkers strangers lol see where Im gettin with this?

Same here. I've been Jeff or Snake forever... until I started dating this chick about 2 1/2 years ago- she calls me Jeffreeeeey! And now everyone else does too. I never used to like the formal one but I'm used to it now, kinda like it.

You could have done alot worse... how's your middle name, can U start using it instead? I agree, nickname might be the fix. Something like Ringo, or Turbo...
