legal name change

Josiah was a famous King in Judah...so I wouldn't be ashamed of the name...he was in good with Yahweh due to his destruction of the pagan worship at the time...

Naming kids is usually a crap shoot...yours is unique...but I can understand your feelings if people are razzing you about it...but changing your name to stop them isn't exactly the best strategy...because they will just find something else to razz you about...

Work it against them...say something like "Jo-Siah will burn you with Fi-ah"...or tell them if they make fun of your name "God will get you for that"...(Maude Quote)

I was also named after a Biblical character...two, actually...the apostles Mark and John...and I used to get "Where's Luke and Mat"? Some people just have no imagination...

Daniel is my real name. I don't really like it that much. Only family and my girlfriend, when she's pissed, calls me that. Everyone else is Dan, suits me just fine. I HAAATE getting called Danny. Nothing against you Dannys out there, I just don't like being called it. I wouldn't get my name changed, but it's understandable why, Josiah doesn't sound too bad though.

I can live with the name, I just wish it wasn't all over stuff. That, and you'd be amazed how few people can pronounce it right.

I kinda wish that I had a name different from what all my friends call me... that way I know when telemarketers are there. My dad's name is James but he's been called Spike since he was a baby. So if anyone ever asks for James, we just say we don't know who that is :icon_rofl:

Oh, and Chance is actually my name... I never ever hear the end of it but I still like my name.

im steven most people call me steve i like steven more though then down here at college im known as timmy (have no idea where it came from) then at the shop i worked at there were two stevens so i was called super steve or ss. i just anwser to anything pretty much

Josiah isn't a bad name. Who cares if it's all over everything? Just identifies it as yours and there's no confusion. If you had a fairly common name like John, Bill or Bob (nothing against anyone with that name) finding your stuff by name can be more difficult.

Hell I'm a guy named Kelly, and have never once considered having it changed. Ya I got razzed in elementary school but so what, people grow up eventually. And if they don't then get away from them.

my name is Anson, it's just a w/ev kind of situation. Understandable getting named after important grandparents of my parents who have passed. DGAF

normally if i dunno someones name, i might just call'em Bill, i dunno why but it just the first name that pops in my head, My names Dustin, and when i was younger my family and their friends would call me "Dutch". Hell my sister still calls me Dutch.

i wouldnt change it, but then again i'm not the type that really gives a shit what people think anyways heh

I'm a Joshua but everyone knows me as Josh. Just because i tell them my name is Josh heh
