LED exterior question

I have a 93 Ranger. Just put LED tail lights and front corner lights in. Got a slight problem with it. When I install the front turns, the turn signals dont work. But when I install the incandescent bulbs in the front they work, but extremely slow with the LED tail lights in.

I tried doing some research. Do i need a different flasher for this conversion to work properly?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I don't know a lot about the led lights so I may be mistaken. But I believe they may not have enough resistance, which does not create enough amperage in the circuit, causing the flasher to not operate properly. There may be a shecial flasher. Maybe contact whoever you got these leds from and see if there is one available.

I heard something about an EP27 flasher but Im not sure if it fits my truck. And from what I've heard, that flasher is to get rid of the hyperflash on LEDs NOT to fix the slow flashing. That's why Ive posted up here. Hopefully someone chimes in.

all marker lights, turn signals, etc. are LED. I think I need a low amp flasher.

Rolled Ranger is correct.

A very simplified explanation (without too many technical terms) is:
incandescent bulbs work by resistance heating a filament in a (near) vacuum. LED lights work through physical reactions. LED lights have less resistance than incandescent bulbs. The flasher is heated by left over resistance that the bulb doesn't use. The LED bulbs "use" less resistance so the flasher gets more resistance, which causes the flasher to operate faster or not at all.

The solution is to get a flasher designed for LED bulbs. The LED flashers don't rely on resistance to operate, and can operate incandescent bulbs on the same circuit. They are more expensive, though.

An EP-27 flasher will not work with your truck, and you would get the hyper-flashing using one anyway. Your truck uses an EL-12 flasher. The LED compatible version is the EL-12-L2.

I just replaced my tail lights only, and not the front turn signals, with LED 3157 bulbs and installed the EP27 (fixes the hyper flash) and my lights still flash quicker but not hyper flash, which i like the quicker flashes in the first place.

Yea, but this is for the 1st-3rd gen LED conversion. You need the EL12L2 flasher for them to work properly or they wont work at all.

The flasher in your truck is probably load dependant. LED's do not give it the right load. Replace it with an Electronic flasher, they are not load dependant. Any local parts store should have the flasher. They are not that expensive. Special LED flashers are basically the same thing with a higher price. They will operate LEDs or regular bulbs just fine.
Electronic flashers will work with no bulbs at all to light up. They will also work with extra lights such as a trailer or auxilary signals.
