Leaning truck after shackle change

- it is a 98 XLT with 115,000 mostly street miles.

QUOTE]i'm surprised none of us asked if it was a torison bar front end,you can adjust each torison bar for height, but you might need an alignment afterwards and the advise of a shop.

Also, if the truck is a 98 the battery is on the driver's side.

Interesting that the springs are sagging already. My 98 has no lean whatsoever. I might try some junkyard springs, or maybe an add a leaf to see if that levels it out.

the torison bars are expensive and 3/4" isent much.i'de just tighten up the adjuster bolt on the low side.tech's do that when aligning any torison bar front end.

Torsion bars aren't that expensive at all. I can get them from my local Ford dealer for about $50/bar, even for the highest rated ones.

A couple clarifications for you all. The body lift "pucks" are not hockey pucks but 1" hard urethane spacers designed for lift kits and sold by a guy on Ebay. I'm following the prescription for a 1" lift specified on the RF board.

I've tightened the torsion bar and got about 3/4 inch lift on the front. I had thenm tighter but hated the ride. I've since had an alignment and am within Ford ride height tolerances. Both left and right front wheelwell to ground are identical.

I replaced the stock shackles with 2" Chevy drop shackles and now have a difference in height between the two REAR corners. I raised the rear a bit as I've always noticed the rear sagging a bit compared to the front. I never really compared the left and right rear height prior to replacing the shackles so the posts earlier in this thread may be right on - it may have always been somewhat different I just didn't notice it.

I can live with the difference as long as nothing is being damaged or is unsafe.
