The back glass of my 2003 is leaking by the contour. My local glass shop tell me there's nothing to do. it's seems they will always leak... Any Idea?

It'a a sliding window.

whats leaking the actual sliding center window or around the frame? the whole thing bolts in, just unbolt it and re silicone the frame and bolt back in

Or if it's leaking at the slider you can try getting new mohair (the fuzzy stuff) and replacing it...

don't EVER use silicon for weatherstripping or on car bodies.there are automotive grade sealers for the job.

yea i know, i have the stuff at work, i drew a blank on the name for it yesterday when i replied, its urethane sealer.

but anyway its very easy to remove and reseal yourself, or if you got the extra cash it prob cost about 50to 100 to have a local glass guy do it for you.

I just had mine done, it cost $90. I took it to my local glass shop and they unbolted the rear window and replaced the seal tape.

Ford had issues with their back glasses when they moved away from a gasket-set glass. From the factory, they had a foam-filled butyl tape that typically would lose it's seal in the upper corners of the glass. If you want to reseal it, don't go back to Ford and ask for that particular butyl. Drop by napa and let them know you need some 5/16" round bead butyl (or "windshield sealer"). Just make sure the pinchweld on the body as well as the glass frame are cleaned well with some acrysol or thinner before running a new bead.
