I have a 2006 Ranger 4x4 that has developed a leaking seal in the front differential housing at one of the axle shafts.

Has anyone been down this road as far as dealer cost to repair?

Thanks...

I would hate to think how much it would cost. I replaced the seal in a Dana 44 for $8 a piece. You could do it your self. Dont know how much time it would take.

At the dealer it will be big bucks for sure. The will want to change the oil and both seal which to pull the cover you need to pull the front axle housing. It's a good 2.5 hours if someone is moving pretty good to pull the housing, do seals and pull the cover and such then toss it all back in. If you're lucky dealer labor will be $60/hr plus parts, probably I'd say $350 or so. If you have the time and place it's much cheaper to buy the axle nut socket, the rest can be done with basick hand tools.
