1990 ford ranger. Roof leaks. I have replaced windshield twice. Leak appears around top of glass, sometimes on both sides of roof. I have removed the head liner to determine exactly where the leak/leaks is/are. I have used garden hose and run water from different directions. In heavy rains, the leak appears on both sides of windshield.

Welcome to TRS.
I take it you have a leaking windshield and are looking for a fix. I don't have personal experience but did a quick search for "leaking windshield fix" using the search button at the top right of the page.
Here is a link to the results;

I hope the windshield was installed correctly and that they checked for rust in the drip rail area. Otherwise maybe one of the links will give you an idea.
Good luck,

Richard

Welcome to TRS~!

Did you know you can get free water boarding with every Ranger? Mine has leaked since I owned it...but was thinking of replacing it because of a stone crack that has worked its way all down the center of the glass...

You really need to have them check for rust areas on these trucks...I know mine doesn't have any rust but the PO had put a healthy layer of silicone all around the windshield and even filled the drain troughs (not available on newer Rangers)...but it still leaked...and then I found the problem...but couldn't fix it and was waiting for a good excuse to replace the windshield...now I have one...it was the sealant around the top (of course) that didn't work properly and had gaps...

The seal is only as good as the person who applies it...hope you solve your problem...but I'd suggest taking it back to the last place that replaced it and have them fix it...if possible!

My 89 ranger had water damage too,had 2 windshields still leaked. My leaks came from behind the rubber seal where the door closes on it at the top. Pull back rubber seal to see if it's rusted out. Also the rain gutter ridge that runs above door was rusted out in spots, I cleaned and got some good sealer, primed, no leaks. also check back dome light had a leak there too . Mark in reno

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I plan to look at all possibilities for the leak.
