Okay, I noticed both of these today.

Leaking antifreeze, I believe from the overflow tank. Perhaps the hose? The clamp? Probably isn't a big deal, right?

Leaking oil, not sure why or exactly where it's coming from. Any ideas? There are additional pictures of this in the album (and other angles)

Here, you can see all (most of) the spots (anything that looks dark is indeed wet here). This may help determine what's coming from where.

There was also a spot below this part. Am I leaking tranny fluid?

Thanks in advance for your help.

On a side note, that green came out really cool in the picture. :/

lol

Well, I would run the truck and hope to catch where the coolant is coming from. Like I've said to someone before on here....Get it up to temp and shut it down. Look under the hood and hope for leaks!

Judging by the 1st photo of oil, I'd say its from the oil pan gasket or the valve covers. Start following up the oil from the pan and go up...it will most likely lead you up to those covers. If the oil doesnt to be all over anything above the Oil pan, then you know its the oil pan gasket....
Not a hard fix to do!

The last 1 could BOTH be oil or Trans fluid. Looks more like trans fluid but Sometimes, if its bad enough, oil can blow by onto the trans. But I would imagine that this leak could be from the front seal in the trans. Someone might know more about those seals than me though, I've never had to deal with one yet.

Thanks. Hopefully I can make it through the week and then take care of it.

Yep. Just keep an eye on its temp. I'm guessing its a 2.9? Dont let that thing over heat!

Just make sure its fluids are where they need to be

About that...my temp gauge doesn't work. The rubber boot that goes over the sensor won't stay on the sensor because the rubber is all rotted, so I've overheated twice so far. Last time, it was smart enough to shut down and leave me stranded on I-95, though. :D

You should really invest in an aftermarket temp sensor then. Or get the boot fixed.

But that wouldnt cause it to overheat though...

Not trying to scare you but the reason I mention overheating is because the 2.9's are known to crack heads. My truck has an early 2.9 that this can happen to pretty easliy. Depending on when your 89 was built you may or may not have the redesigned heads. Unfortunately, they would still crack...maybe not as easily though.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, something's going on to make that truck overheat. Was it low on coolant last time this happened? Anything obvious like that?

Also, how does the oil look? Is it milky? Any white smoke out the back.

Last time, the water pump went kaput. I have a new one in there, now. The oil doesn't look milky. There was some white smoke out the back today, but I think that's because it was raining. I didn't notice any yesterday.

UPDATE: I stripped the boot off and put some alligator clips to clip onto the wire and the sensor. That should at least allow me to monitor the temperature of my system. :)
