Leaking from quick disconnect

I just installed a new clutch, slave, and tranny in my 1986 pickup, but I am leaking from the quick disconnect down on the slave cylinder. I installed an new o-ring but the connection is very loose. When I install the clip, the connection is very loose and it leaks like crazy.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with the first gen trucks? Any one have an idea for fix?
