Leakage

I am in the process of changing the shift rail plugs in my 93 Ranger (4WD w/M5OD-R1, 4.0V6) since I found that the trans was leaking pretty bad. All signs pointed to the plugs leaking (up top, near to where the main case and rear housing come together), however looking at the plugs they appear the be in better shape than the rate of fluid loss would suggest. While I have got everything apart (I dropped the T-case to make it easier to get to the plugs), are there any other areas that could be leaking up there? If not I am going to put everything back together tomorrow or Friday and hope for the best.

Thanks

John

Remove your shifter boot and take a look in there. Odds are your leak is coming from a worn out inner shifter boot on the top of the trans.
