Anyone have any ideas on what this could be?

At first I thought the shift rail plugs but it seems dry up there.

Then I thought output shaft seal, but that's too far back.

I really am stumped. Where is this oil leaking from?

Thanks!

It looks like it might be leaking from the back of the transmission through one of those bolts. Try spraying down the transmission with some brake cleaner and throw some powder on it to see where it gets wet. Talcum powder would work. We use a dyed talcum powder to isolate fuel leaks on aircraft. It should work the same with transmission fluid. Corn starch might work too.

One of mine had a leak in the same spot. I had it out and replaced the shift rail plugs and resealed the tailhousing... still leaked, it really looked like the latter was causing the problem but it ended up being the top cover gasket.

Im addicted to UV dye... Even if the area is soaked in oil previously when you check with UV dye you see the leak right away. About 20 bucks for a flashlight, glasses, and the dye. They make it for coolant, refrigerant, or fuel/oil. Doesn't hurt anything, just takes a few drops.
