Leafspring bushing removal trick..

Start a small fire in your fire pit. Set the spring down so the bushing you want to remove is in the fire. After a few minutes, remove from fire and push the remaining burnt rubber like substance out. (Do not do this over your nice paver patio, your wife will murder you.)
You did this on your paver patio once, didn’t you? :icon_rofl:

I gots no wife to worry about thankfully, new girlfriend though.. so I figure I got a few good whoopsies I can use up before it (I) becomes an issue 😋

I use the hole saw method, then a sawzall to cut a couple slots in the outer sleeve. They usually fall right out. NOTE: some poly bushings require the outer sleeve to be intact though!

I never had much luck with hammering a chisel or screwdriver into the spring eye to open it up, seemed like I just ended up ruining a tool. However, once the bushing is out, it's easier to put new ones in with that method, if you don't have a press or ball joint tool.

No… I’m still alive.

Pavers are no big deal, just flip over the one you ruined and you've got a whole new surface.

Just remember not to spill things on the same paver twice and you're good.
