I'm going to be replacing my leafs here in the near future and was just wondering what you guys thought about these options:

I've heard that the 4dr explorer leafs will give about 2-3in of lift over the ranger ones, true?

If that's the cas I could remove the stock block in the rear and mount it up like that and things should be pretty much the same right?

Or I could just go with another set of ranger springs.

the explorer pack will provide a little bit of a lift, but it might not be enough to compensate for the blocks. if not, you can always do lift shackles along with the springs.

The Explorer springs will lift the truck between 1"-2".

If you're looking to get rid of your blocks and still have the same ride height, I'd look into doing the Chevy spring swap. I bit more involved, but mine seemed to ride better afterwards. Just my $.02.

Yeah i've already got shackles in the back. As for the chevy springs are you talking about 1500 springs? will I have to do any fabrication?

^ What he said. All you have to do is move the hangers. The hardest part is getting the old hangers out of the stock location. After that, mark your holes and drill 'em, stuff some bolts in there and bolt your springs on. It's a good easy weekend project, well, one easy day project if everything goes as planned, but nothing ever does. If your thinking of doing this though, a word of advice, it'll never happen without pulling off the bed first. I don't know if your truck is a regular or extended cab, but with my regular cab, I didn't have to cut the back of the cab bracket out, I think you only have to do that if you've got an extended cab. Well, whatever you decide to do, good luck :icon_thumby:

<edit> Uh yeah, stupid me I shoulda read your sig, if your doing it to the truck in your sig/avatar, your going to need to cut the cab brackets too. Also, one more thing, when you pull the bed off, be sure not to break any of the screws holding it down. (They're expensive to replace), one for my '95 from the Ford dealer was $12! A $12 lag screw!?!?!
