has anyone ever attempted to weld a leaf spring??? mines split were it wraps around the bolt on the frame.. Unfortunatly i cant afford to get a new one right now but i do have a welder.lol If this is a bad ideal please let me know

Bad idea. Springs are heated and quenched through a certain process in order to create the desired properties. I've got a set of stock springs on my ranger. I can cut them off if you're interested.

yes because of the amount of stress on the springs a weld would not be a smart idea

If his packs are different, you can always take them apart and add/subtract leafs.
