Leaf spring hanger replacement.

well now i get to do the fronts, did the rears about a year ago. yesterday i was underneath my truck checking things out and found the drivers side front had rusted thru above the bushing. i did coat the new rear parts with a spray-on bedliner material, and i plan on doing the same with the new front parts. looks like the fuel tank will have to be dropped. i tried removing the bed bolts last summer whn i had the cap off and the bedliner out, tose arent coming off without being torched off, dont think it would help much with the front mounts anyhow, the fuel tank is going to be my main obstacle.

I just did the driver side front hanger on my 97 reg cab today actually. I ended up removing the gas tank skid plate and the gas tank straps and shoving the tank over towards the drive shaft to get enough room to slip the bolts in from the back side.

i figure thats what im going to end up doing. i was hoping there would be enough room somehow to not have to mess with the fuel tank, but theres just no way around it. at least i should be good to go for another 15 years or so once im done.

I'm having a hard time finding the hangers, anybody from Canada find them? I don't want to pay duty and customs.

Go to the dealer, they have them in stock.

Help!

This is my first time using this forum. i am replacing the front leaf spring hanger on my 94 super cab ranger. I've got everything together but i cannot figure out a way to tighten the bolts. I've ton a lot of researching and i feel like i am the only one who has done this without removing the bed and or fuel tank. since i am so close to completion i would hate to have to do that now. so does anyone have any insight on the best way to tighten those bolts? thanks.

you could try hitting it with the iar impact really quick, i was able to get a wrench on each bolt head and tighten with another wrench, it wasnt easy, very tight fit!
