Leaf Spring Bushings

I'm finding that the leaf springs on my '99 2WD 3.0 V6 Ranger have eyes that are smaller than they should be. I bought it brand new in 1999 and have never had the springs off. I can't get Poly bushings from the aftermarket either. Any clues, anyone? I really don't want to replace the springs because they are fine (135K miles) and, they will come with crappy rubber bushings!

Thanks in advance,

Before I sold my 96 Ranger I replaced the leaf spring hangers and bushings...did everything but the front bushing on driver side before I had a problem getting the parts.

I ended up ordering a full bushing kit from my local parts supplier and they fit perfectly on the 96 and all others prior to 98.

You might find something on Summit Racing website...or you might consider getting the kit I got and then having someone shave them on a lathe or similar to fit...that is...if you can't actually find the parts you need.

This is the website...and I copied it from the page that has the set for 1997 and older...check with them if they have or can get the part for your year.

Also check out Energy suspension part number 4 2134g...

Sometimes modifying another part works...and I don't see why it shouldn't if the leaf spring hole is smaller than the bushings for earlier years.

Thanks Mark for your help. I took down one of my leaf springs then calculated what the I.D.'s on the small eyes and big eyes are: 1.125" and 1.250" respectively, then went to a very good parts house here in Covina (Ed's Auto Parts) and they could not find any bushings that size for a '99 Ranger V6. I am beginning to think that I have 4 cyl suspension and brakes on her since the disc brakes are 10.250" which, not even EBC or Summit Racing can believe! It won't stop for s__t and it clunks and clanks everywhere I go after having the entire front end rebuilt...all of those parts fit somehow!!
I'll call about those Energy Suspension parts but like EBC, they can't give me the dimensions that I need b4 I buy them.

oops, should rear prior post better
