Hey guys new to the forum. Recently my Driver side front leaf spring bracket started to crack and is on its last leg. I know this has probly been posted before and sorry to bring up bad memories but I need help due to 2 jobs and short time I want things to go smoothly when I under take this event. I know the bed probly has to come off due to gas tank. What I am worried about is in the event that the bed body bushings are bad is there a way to A) make a flat bed conversion or B) do a simple 2" bed body lift. Also what els would be needed. The bracket was only $25 and I am doing this in my friends drive so I dont wanna take up the drive for a whole weekend.

Any help is apriciated.

What rare RBV are you working on?

Year: 1993
Make: Ford
Model: Ranger

That be what it says next to his post.

Zed are you talking about the rear spring hangers and shackles? If so then I replace some in a 99 a couple weeks ago andit took me roughly 2 hours from start to finish.

Is that rare?

To answer the question, my '93 had perches & shackles replaced without taking the bed off. I believe they heated the rivits with a torch, and then air chiseled them off. Put back on with bolts.

I don't know anything about coverting to a flat bed, or a 2" bed lift.

Ok someone smack me.......I just realized that it WAS in the wrong forum.

i replaced all 4 leaf spring hangers on my 1994 ranger, there is 6 star head bolts that hold the bed on you need a t55 star bit to take them off, then make sure you remove the 3 screws that hold your gas tank filler neck on and unscrew the cap, unplug your taillights, its as simple as finding the wire and unpluging it, you need one other person and lift the bed off, then take the pressure off the leaf springs and unbolt them and then bolt the new on and do the steps in reverse.

btw there is no body bushings your bed bolts straight to the frame rails.
