so i just got a 93 ranger with 366thousand kms. it was slipping real bad and wouldnt take off in the morning for at least 3-4 minutes of constant reving.. so i serviced the tranny and whammo!its running like a 2009 except that it still take 4-5 secnds when putting it in drive from R or P and if you rev it up a bit it clunks in gear a bit faster! what the heck do i need.. and dont say a 1500 dollar rebuild! i paid 400 bucks for this pig! i noticed that a little lever thing that was attatched the the gear quadrent thing that hooked it to a plunger thin was real floppy? does that make a diff? does anyone know what the hell im talking about? lol.. thanks for the advice peeps

change the vacuum modulator valve, its about 15 dollars at a parts store, its above the cat on the passenger side of trans in the back.

i havent changed it yet, but ive noticed that its now taking twice as long to get into gear and i have to give it a couple revs before it really clunks in to gear? also it seems as though it only starts in 1st gears 50-60% of the time?? do i really need a 1200 dollar rebuild? cuz im sure i can find a 5.0 and aod for that price??
