Laptop has Linux...and no dvd drive...and I want Windows 7 Ultimate

Phew...SUCCESS! Thanks everyone...all I had to do was delete a partition then make a new one. Not that hard at all...but I was scared I would do irreparable damage haha. Everything seems to be working good...except the battery still won't take a charge

I ran into an issue when I tried to put 7 on my older Dell, it wouldn't accept 7 because the optical drive was IDE, not SATA. That may or may not be an issue for you since you don't have an optical drive.

My Dell Notebook was actually sold with Windows7 from the factory
(and many more were upgradeable) before it was discontinued
And I've personally run Win7 on it (I took it off because I didn't have a CoA)

and it has an IDE optical drive.

you MUST have a DVD drive to install either Vista or Win7 because the install discs for either OS are DVD-ROM's

Before even thinking about Win7 I'd strongly recommend using your exsisting browser, going to Microsoft.com then downloading and installing their Windows7 Upgrade advisor.

Run it and read the results, many seeingly fast computers simply won't run win7 because of a lack of compatibility with certain system components
or lack of available Win7 compatible drivers.

Man i have bought computers and deleted windows partitions i have never heard of anyone going back to windows. That would be counter productive <--( Took me like 5 min to think of a good term for it)

Anyways that that machine run windows 7 good?

Not that i would use windows on a laptop but just curious.
