I am SURE some of you know what I'm talking about. It happens when you forget your work laptop at home and have to explain to your boss why you need to go home and get it.

Happened to me this morning. It sucks!

Yep, done that before, twice on one week!

Sux!

No work laptop here. I am not even sure why they gave you one in the first place. :) What in the hell would you possibly need that for that your home computer couldn't already do? If you work from home on off hours, I feel very sorry for you. :icon_thumby:

I do work overtime when it's necessary, but that's rare. Maybe stay after an hour everyday for a week and skip lunch (because it makes me too tired to work usually). And yes, I am on a salary.

Do it often, however, I don't use my laptop at work so I don't have to ever go back after it.

I travel a lot is why I got a laptop and a desktop in my office. I frequent our other office in Nashville, TN about 3-4 times a month and I am out of the office on job sites about 3 days a week.

Its even better when there is a policy that you can't bring it out of work without permission ;)

I just had it with me last Friday when I flew back into town...didn't feel like driving across town to drop it off. If I had my work van I probably would have, but I had my truck at the airport instead.

I don't know why I even bother bringing it when I go somewhere anyway. I never use it when I'm out of the office.

or at all...lol

i have a very good chance i would loose my job(or just alot of money) if i took a work laptop home.

I am the entire IT dept at my work. My work laptop stays at home where it belongs so I can take it if I go somewhere.

How can I leave my palmtop at home. Its impossible with it being attached to my left hand. A quick pen and the left palm, a simple palmtop to quickly write notes on. ;missingteeth;

never done it. I have one at home and one mounted in my tractor. and they have identical software so all I have to remember is the thumb drive....... oh and I am the boss so it doesn't matter anyways.

I have to agree that the thumb drive sure helps things. I've just created a separate email address for myself and everytime I create a document I send it to myself. I don't have proprietary software on most stuff so that works. It takes getting in the habit. The proprietary softeware is on a server and I can log onto it anywhere I can plug in - we don't do WI-FI

And I pay no attention to my boss . . .
