We are planning a trip to Land Between the Lakes (LBL or Turkey Bay) in Northwest Tennessee / Southwestern Kentucky.

Date:
May 8-10, 2009

Here is the website address to the facility:
http://www.lbl.org/OHVTrails.html

Here is a map of the ORV trails:
http://www.lbl.org/LBLTurkeyBayMap08.pdf

Here is the website address to the camping:
http://www.lbl.org/CAMPTurkeyBay.html

Food:
- Each attendant will be responsible for their own food and drinks.
- There is ice available to purchase at the lodge where you buy your ORV pass.

Camping:
- Each attendant will be responsible for their own camping. A 3 day camping permit is required and cost $5 per person.
- You can rent camping equipment here:
http://www.lbl.org/RatesAndHours.html

ORV Permit:
- Each vehicle MUST have a 1-3 day ORV sticker to be on the ORV park. To get the permit you must have THIS waiver with you at the time of registration.

ORV rules and regulations:
- Please print them, read them, and sign a copy to bring with you. I want people to know the rules when they come on the ORV park (mjonesjr's request).
http://www.lbl.org/08OHVRules-Regs.pdf

Vehicle Requirements:
- Front and Rear tow points

I'll be able to go as long as it's after the first week or so... I'll just sleep in my truck, lol... I've got it set up for that... Hopefully I'll be lifted and 4x4 by that time, otherwise I'll drive over and rock 2wd, and ride along on the tougher stuff...

I will be there. Either in an Explorer of Bronco II. Either way, I will probably sleep in the truck.

Hey guys, I gotta do some calling, I think as long as we get 3 day wheelin permits the camping permits are included, also gotta see if we get discounts on group wheelin permits.

I probably wouldn't be down there till either LATE Friday night or early Saturday morning.

It is like a 4 hour drive for me.

Will we be in TN or KY?

Depends on which way you come down, I think you'll come down I-24, if you do, you'll turn down I think Exit 35 in Kentucky, then its about 15 or 20 min and your there...I can map it for you and tell you exact time, pm me your address and I can get exact time and distance for you

I will more than likely come down to BG and then go across highway 68 to Hopkinsville. I absolutely HATE going across the WK. It is about 25 minutes farther going to BG, but the roads are SO much better.

I am editing the original post so it is more official. I am also going to stick this thread at the top of the forum.

Yeah, thanks for sticking this, I would have, but haven't been a mod in years...anyways, I know what you mean about the WK, they really need to re-pave that thing, its been like that for years, the pennyrile got a little better, but its getting there...I don't know if the 15-17 (following weekend) would be better for some, memorial day is the next weekend, the 25th...either weekend is good for me though:icon_thumby:

I chose that weekend because of Memorial Day. I figured that on Memorial Day it would be crazy and I know a lot of people already have plans.

Yeah, I didn't count on memorial weekend, one of the members said he would not be available that weekend cause he going to boot camp or something along those lines...wish it was this coming weekend!! Can't wait...:yahoo:

We can always change the date, but it is better to pick a date and keep it early.

I agree, at least its a starting point. I added to the first post, for passenger riders that are available.

For all members who plan to attend, if you have passenger room and don't mind carrying a fellow member if they want to ride than wheel, pm me or mjonesjr so you can be added to the list for info for others, thanks:icon_thumby:
