Lack of power at high revs in aatic trans.

Hello I have a 2003 3.0 V6 automatic Edge and I wanted to know why when I am driving at a cruising speed or even at lower speed if I step on the gas to the floor let’s say for an overtaking the engine does rev up (3500 - 4500 RPM) and it sounds as expected when you accelerate however It does not seem the truck is going faster nor pulling harder, it feels a lack of power. The tranny works smoothly under normal conditions; to this day I've never experienced shifting problems with this truck or abnormal behavior. Still, I do believe this situation could be related to the transmission as not long ago when the fluid was replaced the mechanic said there was debris coming out with the old fluid and recommended I should start thinking about replacing the transmission before it gives me trouble but tranny still works just fine on everyday driving.

3.0 does not equal fast.

Gets you by, but do not expect any high performance.

Foreign matter in the trans is not good; is it acting any different than before?

PS - if in doubt then yes have it checked out by a transmission shop.

It is not acting different than before, as i mentioned the tranny works smoothly in every day city driving, apart from that it works fine.

Did you see said particulates? He could be yanking your chain. Maybe you should change the fluid yourself again and see for yourself. Just the cost of fluid really.
