Not to drag my build thread down, but I had a major accident last Tuesday on my way to work. It was crazy how quick it happened. I was rolling in the fast lane going slower than normal because of the rain, about 55-60mph. I was going by someone when suddenly my ass end slid out to the passengerside(hydroplaned), I corrected to miss the car next to me and it instantly came around on me the other way, clockwise, at that point I spun over into the slow lane infront of the other car, nose to nose for a second, then I spun the rest the was around so the passengerside was leading south into the guard rail. I blacked out at that point and woke up looking at the outside of my passenger side door and some dude at my door. I rolled my window down and chatted with him till the fire truck and ambulance showed up. They used a pry bar to pop my door open and I remember thinking it was going to mess up my paint. LOL. Thy took me to the ER and started looking me over, and after a couple hours decided I had broke 2 ribs in my back, one on either side of my spine, broke part of my spine off, dislocated my right shoulder, broke my right ring finder and got 3 stitches on my right hand. Along with the other cuts and bruises I also punctured my lung a little so they kept me in the hospital overnight. Now that I am out I am dealing with insurance and crap but I am alive, what else matters?

Here are a few pictures of my car I took today....all I can say is wow.

motor mount, tranny was hit so hard it moved the motor. Glad to see the mount failed and not the engine

So, how this relates to my build thread, I bought the car back and I am going to take the motor and put it in the ranger. I also sorced a C4 tranny that will bolt up to the 5.0 and the 1354 t case. SO once I feel better, stay tunes for some more upgrades....

Your lucky! Glad you didn't have a passenger, they'd be hurtin for sure... You know you hit hard when it tore the subframe apart, no wonder you blacked out!

Goodluck on the recovery, and with the swap! Should be lotsa good parts leftover in the stang to part it out for $$$ afterwards too....

WOW. Glad you are ok. Lucky that you didn't have a passenger.
The mustang is replaceable and can always get another one, but it sucks to see a car you love totaled. Been there.

Yup, I am trying to make the best of it. Gonna buy a fullsize truck with the insurance money then swap some parts from the stang to the ranger. Sad to see this happen but it could be worse.

Everytime I look at the car I'm amazed I basically walked away from it.

As far as a DD I still have my explorer and now I have a few weeks off paid so I am gonna shop for for a new to me crew cab Ford.

Now I know you wanted to sell the mustang to buy a tow rig, and I know the wife didn't want to get rid of the mustang. But don't you think this was a little drastic to achieve your goal of a tow rig............

holy FAWK Kyle. That is insane. Like everyone else, I'm glad you're alright. Sorry about the car too man, it was a beaut for sure. I think I'm gonna post your story on a local forum I'm a member of. They're all mustang freaks.

Cool that the heart of the mustang will live on in the ranger. Good way to keep the spirit alive.
