Kroussin 93 Explorer build

i could definately use some new shoe's but i need somthing a little more forgiving on the drivetrain. hopefully i can land some descent tread tires in a desirable size soon.

got into a slick situation last night. closest winch point was just over 300 ft away. as it turns out i carry just enough gear to reach that far.

all in all made it out fairly easy. spent more time rigging cable and trudging thru knee to waist deep water. after that run i think its time to yank all of the carpet out of the sploder

Since you seem to be getting into stuff like that, you may want to consider a rear winch to be able to hook to things behind you such as another vehicle and whatnot.

Hopefully water hasnt made its way into your diff. seeing that your axles spend sometime under water.

BTW like the orange on the wheels. Makes seeing how deep your tires are in the mud easier to see in the dark pictures.

i will forever be swaping gear lube. its impossiable to keep it out completely the best your gonna do is prolong it getting in. a rear winch woulda done me no good as it was farther to that tree line then to the one infront of me. but i do agree a rear winch would be nice. however i need other things first.

IMO, it's better to have a front/rear hitch reciever with the cables run with quick disconnects on them. That way, you can keep the winch on the reciever mount in the cab/trunk w/ you while wheeling, it stays out of the weather, and you have simple front/rear winch capabilities.

Either way, that swamp looks fun for a truck on 44's + :D

Well....in his case would he want to fight the mud/water and handle the 100#+ winch? I sure wouldn't.

had a buddie running a multi mount. it was a GREAT idea.. somone smashed his side window and stole it. he only got to use it twice. i'll leave it on the front bumper to tempt people. and in order to get the winch off the bumper, winch hook, failead and everything HAS to come off. not only that but it all has to come off in a combination. if you were to do it VERY hastly i could see it getting done in about a half hour. if you knew EVERYTHING that has to come off (who is gonna show up with torch's). after his got stolen i redesigned my bumper (on the mazda at the time) to make it harder to get off.

i figure if i cant reach a good anchor and cant dig a hole deep enough to burry somthing to anchor off of. its a good enough stuck to snap a picture and either call someone and take a nap or start the hike out.

and as escort said i really dont want to have to fumble around with over 120lbs trying to get it on the bumper and have it hang way the heck off did i mention the tree line behind the truck was farther than the one in front and if i had to hang the winch off the front ide have to be in water waist deep for a good period of time rather than step on the tire and flip it from freespool to engaged. designing a multimount with a good approach and departure angle is near impossiable so leaving it on is NOT an option

not tryin to be a dick just really not fesible in my world

i'm allways havin a good time. as long as my tires are off pavement it all worth it. even dragging cable back and forth thru the swamp had a certain degree of fun to it.

well my last post never posted but oh well. (hope i didnt post in somone elses page on accident)

it read somthing as follows.
after the night of fun pictured above the other truck lost all lighting. we limped him back home with a quick temporary fix to get headlights. when we got to my house (closest) we started looking around and the wiring was HACKED. scotch locks, crappy e-tape, cut wires everywhere. he had just got the truck from his grandfather and is just getting into wheeling. ive been trying to help him out alongt he way as when i first met him all he wanted was 40's and 12" of lift. he came along with a mutual friend on our spring run a couple weeks ago and after spending the weekend in my truck he realized a winch was priority #1. So his 1st planned weekend was to be this past weekend. which gave us 1 week to get it all back in order. we used all of that time rewiring most of the truck properly. spent 40 hours last week tracking, cutting, and rerunning every wire that was touched in its previous life. In that that time i allso had to manage working full time and spending time with the family. needless to say i was Very sleep deprived. but in the end everything worked amazing the new gauges(temp, oil, volt, tach) all worked as they should and werent hacked in. i also managed to murder my wheels out quickly and yank all of my carpet. also had a good time wheelin even tho there was an excessive amount of sitting around and waiting for others.

not too too many pics of my truck as i seemed to be the only guy with a G.D. camera. After everything was said and done my truck took a small drink of water and is now having some running issues and the chev needs the cooling system addressed. in our group (of 24) the only serious breaks were a f.s. bronco toasted his tranny and an Xj destroyed a rear axleshaft. there were some other minor issues but nothing too serious.

Whatever that liberty hybrid thing is, please give more info on it. Looks awesome all chopped up in back.

Exploder did good buddy. As for water, throttle body cleaner, new plugs, drop in air filter, clean the MAF, oil change.

I had water standing in the air box and at the throttle body. Ran like shit. Did those changes, runs awesome again

I will post up more pics of the land liberty thing tonight.

as for the water, I allready threw in a cheap filter (until i can clean the K&N) cleaned the maf, intake tube, and throttle body (all quickly) runs much better but still not 100% will likely swap plugs and clean everything a little better this week. then start lookin into runnin a snorkel by saying it took a drink of water it all happened quick. never had water over air box depth just my lack of "Full" inner fenders caused an excessive amount of water to splah around under the hood.
