Kroussin 93 Explorer build

haha yeah! looks like tons of fabbing to get the gate to fit right. when the time comes it'll be an extended cab with a super short box set up the same as the mazda (toneau and toolbox.

Yea thats one of the few things I don't like about SUVs' but everything has there upsides and downsides

I'm kinda bummed that i cant do a recessed highlift! i dont the length to fit it anywhere

Make it fit on the inside somehow. That reminds me, I still need to get a highlift. But my v8 is first on the list now.

take your hinges off the top of your hatch and mount them to the bottom of the door and the body, idone it to my bronco so now it works like a truck tailgate and it was to easy.

when i done mine i attached them to bottom of the door first then hung the back on by the latch pins and welded the other half if the hinge to the body.

that looks awsome but with the amounts of snow we get and sub zero temps open top wheeling can get miserable. gonna stick with the heat and what not for now. no serious body mods till i at least get some scratches in the darn thing.

i had a chop top 83 chevy s-10 blazer when i was in highschool. did it in the begining of summer and loved it to death. about this time of year i realized how much i hated it.

well still no picture updates but i figure i should at least post that it is still alive (sorta) been wheelin it like crazy. It rides so much better than the mazda (at least in my head it does) took it out all day saturday and had a blast right at the end of the trip the battery finally gave up the ghost. it has been giving me issues slowly but surley and as of the end of the night it would no longer start the truck. ontop of that my clutch started acting up twords the end of the night as well. I was having a hard time gettin in gear. by the end of the night i couldnt get in gear at all. had to get pushed till i could get it to slide into gear. since the battery was smoked there was no option of starting it in gear either . there is also dot3 all over the innerfender so somthing let loose. i'll pull it into the garage this coming week and start my once over and fix what needs to be fixed. The doorlocks and windows are also giving me fits aswell. windows only operate thru the driverside contolls but for the locks i have to press the button bout 100 times in order for them to unlock. they do lock right away however.

On a good note my gears are ordered FINALLY!!! hopefully have them in the truck somtime around the newyears!!! gonna be wierd going from the 3.50's to 5.13's

too busy havin fun in it to stop and take some pics and its harder to get people to go wheelin with ya when its below freezing. they all think your gonna get stranded overnight or have to walk out. I havent had to do either since highschool. bottom line is at least bring appropriate clothing. i'm sure around spring time the pics should start flooding in. when its only a driver in each vehicle have to keep a roll on in order to accomplish trails in a respectable length of time. the club needs to get a dedicated photographer that is required on EVERY trip

eer ya go. went thru my phone and snagged the pics I had.
not much but hope it makes everyone happy

Start with one that's not even my truck. the squirly s-10 project that he never took over on here. does pretty good
4.3,700r4,corp14 rear,10bolt front, complete highsteer, 38x13.5x16 tsl

and here she is. front isnt fully flexed but rear IS. only rubbing is of the front tires inside the fenderwell on the plastic liner. i can deal with that. i just hope with the 38x15.5's im gettin it wont be much worse.

the joy of winter wheelin is you get gnarly amounts of ice and mud frozen inside your rim that makes for a really fun ride home if your any distance out. somtimes have to chip as much out as possiable and just hope the inside is uniform enough not to make the truck bounce off the road

the larger hills are a blast to play on as well but in this particular area it is a riot with alot of small yet very steep hills gouges, spines, and what not. there are alot of pictures takin in bout the 3 acres where this one is taken. all 3 pics of the trucks were taken in the same general area.

lookin' good:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

can't wait to see it on the 38's.....

and yes, you will notice a big difference goin' up to the 5.13's.....

i'm geeked. hopin that by the time the axles are done i will have the coin to drop on a pair of lunchbox lockers. Have alot to do while its down tho. need to fix the clutch. replace the battery, replace some frontend parts. finish the front bumper and build a rear bumper with a tire carrier. also need to track out some minor electrical issues.

hope to have it back wheelin by the end of january or begining of feb. should be 100% for the spring run in march or april

WAAHHHOOO!!!! hopefully have the axle's back in by newyears!!! gears will be here thursday. hopefully drop off the gears, install kits, and axles thursday or firday!!! i'm stoked
