I plan on doing a 5.0 swap after tax season too. My 2.8 is great but at 10mpg and a huge lack of power I think its time. Plus I need another major project to do on her too.

I want to put an np205 on mine and do the dual stick mod to it.

Hey I got a 4.0l 91 XLT 4x4 and I am wondering if you know if there is a better highway gearing at all for it? and I admire your Ranger build, quiet nice I must say!

got my motor mount chained down good finally. been flooding with a lot of rain here so we goin muddin tonight. ive began looking for an old f150 or 250 with a 5.0 in it. hoping to find one that runs decent or maybe needs a part or two, and just the body is in bad shape or no title. that way i can hopefully get it for under $400-500. that way ill have everything i need. im also working on getting it passable for inspection

I would get a 5.0 that has the roller lifters in it and be done. I cant wait to get started on my 5.0 swap!!!!

Thanks demon. Looking for a 302 now and the 2.3 won't Blow up haha. As far as anyone saying I need bigger tires, until you buy me some then it ain't happening. I'm about broke

Why invest into gears when a 5.0 would be better in the end? His axles are already setup for a 5.0 IIRC seeing as they came out of fullsize.

i already have more than enough gearing. if you would have read my statistics that i have posted a few times before you critisize it, you would already know this. my gears are 5.38. its the dying 2.3l that is my problem right now.
