Koty's 91 Ranger Build Thread

haha

i dont see anything wrong with it.. lol if you need another radius arm pm me

its upside down i think. look at the radius arm brackets

EDIT: just looked again and the brackets seem to face different directions from each other so that doesnt help but its still the ford style c bushings which means i still think its upside down

its is upside down for sure, look at the shock mounts, and how the drag links are mounted, and the steering stablizer, and the calibers are on the back of the discs. of course its upside down!

yeah its upside down, but i was talking about the mangled radius arm. before i had it the truck was on a flatbed and they almost wrecked, but it was chained to the arm so it got pulled bad.

and ive already got one lined up boggin but thanks! also i went to the post office for that stuff but they were closed.

also the rear end is all cleaned up, about to primer and paint it. then ill start taking a wire brush to the front end. i wish i had access to some better tools for this kind of stuff! haha

im suprised that you dont get an new radius arm from the towing company. if my truck was in their care and i got it back bent theyd be paying for it to be fixed..

it was someones personal flatbed, not a company

but its all good, i just trading some coil springs a had laying around and didnt need for it. im trying to get it this weekend but i cant get ahold of the guy i have to go through to talk to him

well it snowed enough to blanket the ground last night and is making a mess from the mud. so i dont get to finish my front axle today. looks like ill be working on it after work until dark this week until i can get it done

i really need to get them regeared and ready to go, but im kinda unsure about diving in myself on it.

just spent $171 at autozone on stuff for the axles. i got wheel bearings, wheel bearing seals, front brakes, rear brakes, wheel cylinders, rear e brake adjusters, and rear spring rebuild kits.. bleeeehhhhhhh

still really need to install my gears before my buddy gets back. that way i will have the axles pretty much ready to install minus the brake hoses and lines. we'll wait until we mock it up to do that so we know the lengths and all that good stuff.

plus the base of my shower cracked so gotta replace all that. im just taking it out of my rent with a receipt. and i been pulling that out after dark when i cant be out working on the axles anyways

that sucks bout the shower.. even tho its getting paid thru ur rent still a pita...
axles are coming along pretty good. btw

thanks for the feedback man! yeah the shower is gonna be covered but i still gotta pay for it upfront. but oh well, thats life, a pain in the butt sometimes! haha

got the rear end geared and spooled. found out i must have a heavy duty 9" instead of a regular one. none of the carrier and pinion bearings would fit. had to look up the numbers and found out the size bearings are for the "heavy duty 31 spline non-posi ford 9" haha..

and on the way to the building where we were doing it, we thought it was on my bed good enough for a mile trip, guess not.... we went to go up the hill and it slid off the back of my truck into the road haha

nice! what gears you going with? i once drove about 80km with my wallet on the tailgate. i didnt know it fell outta my pocket, didnt lose it though :icon_thumby:

:shok: dam!
that would have been great if it fell out when you had someone riding right on your ass.....no need to brake check just deploy the axle

yep fell right in the darn street. scuffed up my paint and put a hairline fracture on one of the drums, but hopefully itll hold up til i get enough money to worry about it.

and a went up to 5.39. figure it should give some pep to that 2.3. i wanted 5.29 but they dont make them for a hp reverse cut d44 apparently..
