Kona off Road south point

For those of you who get a chance to get to the big island of Hawaii something you want to do is go off road near the south point green sand beach and for those you who dont want to risk breaking your rental because there is no good way to recover the vehicle cost efficient anyway. You can pay to get a ride from the locals to the beach and back. Its kinda like Roush creek in some spots. Unfortunately I forgot my phone in the car when we went. But we rode in the bed of 86-88 Ranger. The woman has some pictures on her camera I will upload them later this coming week.

if you look up this area on google maps you can get an Idea of the trails that are here. Anyone can bring their vehicle. But you are on your own if you break it.

This truck was in great shape for taking people back and forth over the terrain time and time again.

When were on Oahu it was amazing the complete lack of older vehicles we saw.

I saw one older Ranger and it was a first gen. Stock height with wider tires and a ladder rack with surf boards on it.

Drove the road to Kona back in 2004. What an amazing drive! Do it if you ever get the chance.
