Koda's Zx2.

They have alot more oomph with the 5speed than the auto. I drove one around a few months ago, definately enjoyed it. My zx2 is more of a comfort vehicle for me (with the exception of headroom) so I'm happy with the auto as it is. You won't believe how warm that sucker gets in 0* weather. I can just sit back and relax while I'm driving.

If I wanted a racecar I would have bought a mustang.

if u bought a mustang ud be gettin the same mileage :icon_twisted:

No, I'd be getting a lot worse. You seem to forget that this is an escort, and powered by a little 4cyl.

Did a tune up and it bumped my mileage up. I used to get 23 no matter how I drove, now I get 23 city and 28 highway, with an average between 24 and 25. Last fill up was 10.67 gallons @ 275.4 miles. I think that's 25.8 or something close, I can't remember how much it came out to. All I have is the numbers on my receipt. The last few have been about the same, I'd have to dig through my glovebox to find the slips though. I can boost that even more with better driving and stock tires. The auto Zx2 is rated at 22-30.

The 2000 V6 mustang can manage that as it's highway, but that's not a real mustang in my opinion. Unless it's brand new and pushing 300+ HP. Lets factor in one the same year as my Zx2, a 2000.

V8-> 16-22. I would almost never see anything above 18 with the way I drive, I can guarantee it.

its all about how u drive....u like the skinny pedal, i pull 22-23 mpg(around town) out of my 1990 Mark VII LSC, which is a heavier car, auto and has a 5.0 HO
on the highway ive gotten as high as 30mpg over a 125mi trip

it woulda been a better return on investment aswell, i mean ur already paying sprots car insurance and not getting econo car mileage to say the least

That mileage doesn't seem right (seems low). My Tempo w/ inblock cam 2.3L HSC engine sees about those figures with 180K on the old bird.

It gets the one of the best mileages out of the 2000 model year fords. Focus is 2mpg ahead of it and the escort is 1mpg up.

Older cars typically get better mileage, my old '93 escort wagon got 45 on average.

Hey, easy on the v-6's. I had a 2000 mustang 3.8 with Mac cold air intake, Mac longtube headers, offroad h pipe, flowmaster 40's with turn downs before the axle. it had a steeda tri-ax shifter and falken koblens 18x8 and 19x11. This SOB would scream down the higway at 120 plus with pedal to go. Its got the same horsepower numbers as a 91 GT. (just less torque)

Ill never miss another car more.

Only two more days and I can attempt an inspection!

Wish me luck, it's gonna take a lot of it to get this car to pass. Sad thing is, it runs and drives fine. Just has a dummy code that I can't get rid of.

Ordering a new TPS and evap can tonight.

Also going in and swapping the IAC for a replacement, since one of the codes points to that. Good thing it has a free one year eh?

did you take a gawk at the black ranger yet ?

The 96 or the 01?

I'm starting to think the 96 is gonna be a no go. I haven't heard from the owner and I'm starting to think he sold it. As for the 01, it depends on if I get the Zx2 inspected. If not I'll take a look.

Got another 96 I wanna check out. It's a 3.0/5speed with 142k miles. Waiting for that email.

In the mean time I've picked out some audio componets. It's a cheap setup @ $325.

If I pasted the right links that should send you to a pioneer 6.5 with 50W @ 4ohms for the fronts. I would run these off the HU. The amp isn't what I wanted, but it fit well with the speakers at 75W RMS @ 4ohms. I'm unfamiliar with Sound Ordnance, and in all honesty I'm a diehard Pioneer/Sound Stream fan. The pioneer amps are 60W or 125W. How would 60W of the pioneer compare to the 75W of the sound ordnance?

Here's the pioneer.

The rear speakers are Pioneer TSA6993R 6x9's. 80W RMS @ 4ohms. These will be the ones powered by the amp.
