Sort of. The Zx2 is a badass version of the Escort and the Zx2 SR is the badass version of the Zx2. :D

And Stegomon, I'm on teamzx2. I like it so far. I'm the guy named Koda6966 that's always complaining about his brakes.

haha that is why i have not sighed back up since the forum swap thing...lol...i just wish i could find some stock s/r struts that are not from the local ford dealership that $150 per strut...also my damn rear calipers are $250 per side.

also at the local napa they are 84$ perside but i have alreay replaced them both........

Only thing that I hate about the Zx2 being more sporty than an escort, is that it's branded with a "Sporty" insurance bump up. :annoyed:

I'm paying 230 a month now for car insurance, on JUST my car. Truck's off the road until may.

ouch man. that sucks.

thats why i drive an 89 probe gt. its so old insurance is cheap on it.

ranger was cheaper, but then again i only payed 25.00 for the year on that :icon_surprised:

NICE!! and u have the zetec with Variable Cam Timing, the only other zetec that has it is in the svt focuses. IICRC ur vct is on the exhaust cam, ware as mine is on the intake and exhaust. There are some other differences but the zx2's were the first ford to have them.

Koda....you really should be running some sort of solid exhaust hanger with a rubber bushing instead of wire. Like the $1.50-2.00 ones from the autoparts store. Bolt the top to somewhere on the floor pan or a 'x-member' then the bottom side is attached to pipe via an exhaust clamp...probably reuse one of yours currently. Bouncing exhaust isn't good and using wire no matter how well you think it's secured, it'll eventually loosen up and bounce once again. Believe me when I say this...do things right the first time. I learned alot on my old chevy's and old toyotas to not skimp because something just 'works fine'. Shoot, even learned on the Ranger too. lol. Can't believe the hackjobs I did to my then brand new truck.

Oh...fwiw, you said you don't trust those exhaust hangers? Yeah, they may rust off.....10 years down the road....

Pulled my codes today, I forgot to clear them so I just left my battery unhooked while I was in walmart. Hopefully I'll have enough time for my car to relearn data so I can get it inspected, but not enough for it to relearn the codes.

They are..

P0125 Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Closed Loop Fuel Control
P0171 System too Lean (Bank 1)

I read on how to fix P0171 on teamzx2.com but how do I fix P0125? Is it telling me I have had low coolant and my engine ran too warm? I'm so lost with this OBDII stuff, I'm used to vehicles that you slap some tape over the engine lights and call it fixed. I should have got that 1995 Audi 90 Quattro instead..

I believe that P0125 means that your car is not getting up to temperature. I got that code once when I forgot to plug in the wires into the temperature sending unit on my car(1996 contour 2.0 zetec). My code reader tells me what the temperature is, and I looked on it and it was -39 degrees or something so that pointed me right to it. P0171 i would be looking for a vacuum leak.

The elbow of the PCV valve is a common leak spot for Zx2's. I'm going to check in that when I get time.

How would I go about fixing 125?
