Koda's Zx2.

Great pick up Koda! I love the Exterior, very sporty! However the interior is FUGLY(roundness everywhere!!) but its a commuter and will serve its purpose well. Looks like previous owner took very good care of her. Whats the odometer read?

they are good cars koda, i think you'll be happy. let me know if you've got any questions, i know lots about escorts/zx2's

The 5 speed ZX2's are quick. I've never been for a ride in the auto version though.

Congrats on the ZX-2, my brother has one. My wife and I had a Focus with the same ZETEC motor.

Good car and good motor only bad thing is the electrical. The battery cable/connector rust quite prematurely (underneath as well) do check if you get a no start.

Congrats

Is that the zetec? or the SPI? If you have the SPI I pity you. I blew the valve seats out like 3 times in a year, before I dropped the car at the junk yard and told em to do whatever they want with it.

The auto is quick as well. It's hard NOT to speed, where in my Ranger it was hard to get up to the speed limit.

I know quite a bit about them, if I need help I'll keep you in mind.

I kind of like the interior, minus the size (tiny) and the radio.

Anyway, right now I'm working on that spoiler. Keeping paint smooth is hard to do. I also touched up a few spots where the paint chipped off on the hood and a four foot key mark where somebody didn't like the previous owner too much.

They're good little cars. I've always secretly wanted one, then absolutely wanted one when they introduced the Zx2 S/R package. Dad almost bought one....if he did, I would'nt be driving a Ranger.

Parents eventually bought one....1998. Gay light metallic blue with super light grey interior. Hate the combo. Nothing goes well on that exterior color. Wish it was a 2000 like yours with dark interior and a normal exterior color. I'm looking at buying it of them.

Here's that spoiler. Doesn't look too bad for spay can job if you ask me, still needs some clear though.

Oh, and I came home today from spending the past couple of days with my ex girlfriend to find that I received a package.

Now I just have to pick up a few things to put it on, although I'm going to see if I can salvage my current exhaust tip. I'm short on cash right now, and I need to cut corners where I can. I might run it without a tip for a while. And about it being a glasspack on an escort, if I don't like the sound, I'll put it on my truck and swap mufflers. The truck has a semi-new one as well.

I need to paint it too.. bumping around in the box made it lose some. I don't want this to rust out right away.

Finished painting the exhaust today. That paint takes a long time to dry in this kind of weather. Sadly the tip I bought doesn't fit too well so I'll be returning that one and looking for another. I might go with round, since an oval doesn't look too good with this muffler.

I'm looking at putting it all on tomorrow morning before work. Since someone stole my 12 gauge sabots I won't be doing any hunting on the first day.

Here's the old muffler off the car. If you look closely at the 3rd picture you can see the Ford Emblem. I bet that looked nice off the line, damn rust belt.

Got the extension bolted in. You have no idea how hard it was to hacksaw that off muffler right there. I sliced my hand on the extension too, because I forgot to take the burrs off with my linesmans before I installed it. Plus I broke two of my best EMT cutting blades on that sucker. I had to use the "mini" hacksaw for two of the hangars and the end of the muffler, and if you don't hold it strait it bends blades.

New muffler before I put in a horizontal support.

After adding the support. Basically where I want it to be. I had to move it over some to keep it from rubbing the brake line.

Here's that support. It's done up with #14 AWG Aluminum wire. I have about 250 feet of it, so I use it for almost everything. Since a single strand held my spare tire under my truck for a few years I trust it to hold my exhaust.

Don't ask what the lines on some of the pictures are, I don't know. Something happened when I uploaded them to my computer VIA usb cord since my card reader is missing. If I don't feel too lazy I'll redo it.

And of course, you can't forget the video. Before you say it yes I know I'm running rich, I have a bad o2 sensor. The previous owner unhooked the battery to clear the codes so I didn't find out until a few weeks after I bought it.

Added in the vertical support today, basically it went from a stock hangar on the right to one on the left to keep the exhaust from bouncing around so much and hitting on the "axle" area. Now it is about 2" higher than it was and doesn't make an annoying banging sound while it's running. A guy over on a Zx2 forum I just became a member of is complaining about my use of 14AWG wire, but I trust this wire more than I do the little metal things they sell at advance auto. Aluminum doesn't rust, and is VERY strong when stranded. I'm running six or seven strands on the horizontal support and about ten or twelve on the vertical support, that's close to 3 or 4 wire I think. Which is big. Considering one strand has held my spare tire under my Ranger for a while, I'm very confident that this will hold my exhaust from bouncing around. Plus I think I used this on my Rangers as well, to hold it up.

They are decent cars. But 2500$, for the one you have? I'd of offered him no more than 1800$. Your car seems have a fair amount of undercarriage rust.
