I poop in the furnace.
I've had a "Knot" in my back under my right shoulder blade for like a month and a half now. I've tried stretching every way possible, my lil electric TENS gizmo, rubbing it, hitting it with a hammer, I even took a hot shower! Nothing works!

It's driving me nuts, makes it uncomfortable to sleep some nights though it usually loosens up and feels better by morning but by the afternoon it's back all tense again no matter what I do, working hard or laying on the couch doesn't matter it's driving me nuts by noon.

Any home remedies for a ole fashion muscle knot?

This happens to me a lot.
IDK if you tried this already: reach left as far as you can with your right arm. If you can grab a wall or post or something sturdy, do that, then lean right and try to pull on the knot.
This happens to me sometimes,. It has been so bad that it is hard to take a breath too fast.
If you have somebody you trust: lay down on your stomach, arms tucked back with fists near shoulders, and have somebody put pressure on your back. I know you say it's in/near your shoulder, but some relief may come from a back adjustment. Sometimes chiropractors are covered by Insurance.

Not really a home remedy, but could you try PT? It has done some amazing things for me including keeping me out of surgery after a disc popped out trying to tighten down a safety valve on a steam boiler, and keeping me running after a couple of injuries. I've never had PT not work for me, as long as I actually do the exercises and 'homework' and don't just lie about it like I do to the dentist about brushing my teeth and flossing twice a day.

By "PT", you obviously meant this, right?

I don't know if it will "help", per say, but it should be some fun.

I'm having the same problem. It tingles like i hit a nerve but it doesnt go away. Sometimes I think it might be my lung but I can feel the knot slightly and knead it with my left hand a bit, but not enough to do any help. I'm thinking I might pop for massage therapy ($75)...and I'm really cheap so that tells you how much it hurts.

Muscle cramps and knots can be from dehydration, so more common in summer months

Gatorade can help with more fluid intake, but also replaces the minerals lost when you sweat
A Doctor for the Florida Gators football team analyzed the sweat of the players after practices, put those lost(sweated out) minerals in a drink and Gatorade was born
Simplified version, lol

Can't hurt and you need the fluid regardless
I like the Fruit Punch flavor...........................and not just because its RED, well maybe a little

So Gatorade is just flavored and colored sweat from alligators?

I would visit a good chiropractor and get their opinion. Between manipulation, dry needling, etc - they may be able to help quite a bit.

Not alligators, Gators, football players, so yes, flavored SWEAT from People

I guess it could be worse, you ever taste Powerade? It tastes like a mixture of cough medicine and dirty dish water... and that’s one of the better flavors.

Yeah, tastes like chicken. Let's hope that doesn't take @Dirtman down the bird path again :icon_rofl:

I live in Tallahassee, Home of the Florida State Seminoles, also the biggest "gator Haters" live here. There are people that absolutely refuse to drink Gatorade, because is was engineered and invented in Gainesville Fl. There are even a few cases of "Nole-Ade" floating around at any given time. Needless to say, a lot of Powerade gets sold here.

I really don't wanna deal with a chiropractor yet. Gonna try some more stretches like @Ranger850 suggested, drink a crap load of Pedialyte (better than Gatorade and I think it tastes better) like @RonD suggested, sit in a hot bath, and if none of that works, I'll see if there's a rub and tug around town like @alwaysFlOoReD suggested...

Yeah, dehydration definately causes muscle cramps. Learned the hard way when doing roofing at above 30°C. Pharmacist recommended half and half sodium chloride and potassium chloride when I told her I was too cheap to buy gatoraid. Just so happened I have some low sodium salt that is exactly that....
I'll have to find that and add it into my drink mixes.

I always keep a jug of Pedialyte in the house for when I get the mud butt... Which happens way more often than I'd prefer to admit... but I do eat a frankly absurd amount of raw seafood so comes with the territory.

Some ginger tea to fix the tummy ache, and some Pedialyte to fix the dehydration from the pooping and some Vicks vaporub for the smell...

I'm gonna down a quart of Pedialyte and then lay on my back on the hardwood floor watching cartoons for an hour.
