Kids these days...

No matter the neighborhood, you should always lock your doors. One of the reasons why I always lock doors behind me. And because it has become a habit with my mother too, it saved her from a carjacking.

As for the feeling of losing your stuff. I know that feeling. My Ranger has never been broken in, but my house was. One week, my neighbor had his truck broken into along with several others too. My neighbor across the street actually put a stake out on my Ranger thinking there was good chance of it being broken into. Mainly because it sat in the driveway for the whole week without moving, and I was drving the motorcycle. This year, we are taking no chances with the increase of robbieres. My family will be installing a video camera system for the house.

Like Jeff Foxworthy stated .......... see an engine swinging from tree ..... buddy thats a house where a gun lives...........

I would never leave my car unlocked in a manicured lawn white picket fence neighborhood. more good stuff and less chance of meeting an angry homeowner with a gun. Redneck (not hillbilly or white trash meth block) neighborhood on the other hand ......... lots of angry homeowners with guns, makes me feel nice and safe.
Exactly I love small towns lol. The keys are in the ignition of almost every vehicle in town and all are unlocked and no one is going to be missing anything in the mornin. As a matter of fact there has only been one kid to steal a cd player in this town in like 10 years and when his father found out he let the owner, kid around the same age, beat the shit outta the boy to teach him a lesson. Tough love works best.

I dont know how that one will go in court. Good luck to him:icon_thumby:

No court involved. The thief ran, my neighbor said he'd buy me a new mountain bike, I told him not to since it was my old one, and my new one was locked up. His truck was fine, but the winch doesnt work smoothly anymore.

yeah thieves are jsut plain stupid some times. my buddy had his brand new 07 chevy 1500 in our other friends driveway on night (we were all drinkin and stayin the night there) when the next mornin we went to leave and found out his rear window was cracked enough for someone to reach in and open the door. Found out both my buddies iPod was stolen and wallet (one iPod was broke so it wasnt too big of a deal). well lucky for us, our friends house has cameras were the truck was parked and sure enough the tape caught the kid, couldnt be mroe than 15 years old. So we figured we would do the samething again that night with another car and a fake wallet on the dash to see if the kid would do it again. Sure as shit at four that mornin we were still up and saw his ass in the camera. We all went haulin ass out the door after him and tackled him to the ground. We called the cops and his mom. The kid had sold one iPod already ( the broken one lol) and took all my buddies cash out of his wallet (about 30 bucks)> the Cop asked my friend how much the iPods cost and he told them one was broke, so the officer asked "well how much were they new?" he said "I guess about 225 for both". the officer said ok, if you prosecute you will most likely be rewared the 225 plus the 30 bucks so 255 all together. It was great to see justice had and my buddy recieve all 255 from the court.

I told my parents that the cameras outside their house would be a great investment, i know ill have them when i buy my house this summer

Wow, I always keep my stuff locked up. I don't know why not that my home town is dangerous or anything, I just don't like people messing with my stuff. My g/f is totally different, no one locks up anything at their house of in their town. Then again they live out in the sticks with a few big dogs so I guess they have their own security. But sorry to hear about everybody's bad days with thieves.

Even though the thief ran I don't think he would get in as much trouble as your neighbor who ran him over.

Ya that is why when I built my new Comp. tower I out two 500gb hard drive in and bought 3 wireless cams for the outside of my house. I have the house covered on allsides except the back, I feel fine with this since the thief will have to come from the house behind me and then deal with my Mastiff. But I also feel pretty safe in my coldisack(sp) I have 6 guns, the guy to my left is a retired shierff, and the other two in the coldisac(sp) have small armory. Also if anybody ever hears anything that not right people will come a callin.

Never had my trucks broken into, but about two years ago I lost alot of stuff when someone decided to break into my house while I was out of town for the weekend.

Me and my (at the time) gf decided to go visit some friends of ours for the weekend. Made it back home only to find that we'd been robbed blind. Furniture got left alone, but my gaming PC, $9,700 worth of Live Sound audio equipment, my guitars and basses, and various other objects were gone. They even somehow found the high-dollar video card I had hidden in my closet (was supposed to be a b-day gift for a friend).

To everyone else thats had stuff stolen from them, I feel your pain.
