aright guys, noticed today that where the kickdown cable is attached to the gas pedal it appears that plastic piece where the spring is hooked to broke, now the kickdown cable will not sit in the groove. Will this mess anything up. i am going to be going from the a4ld to a m5od here in about a month. Would it be worth to fix it or is there a way to rig it back to working. BTW it is a 90 ranger 4.0 4x4

If it still down shifts fine when you step on the gas, and you are doing a manual swap in a month, I would leave it.

If the cable just has too much slack, I'd take some zip ties and put a bunch around the cable. I know this works for the throttle cable becuase they stretch out over time. I don't know how well it work on the kickdown, but I was going to try it in a couple days and se what happens.

i tried the zip ties and didnt like the way they felt when i hit the gas, plus its kinda a $hitty way to do it, i went to a nitro remote control car hobby shop and got these pieces that they use to make throttle linkage on the cars, it looks like a bead for a necklace, but it is aluminum and has a set screw in it, you slide the bead over the cable, set it where you want it and tighten the set screw, i will post pics later.
