Kia Rio with a roll bar

Yesterday I saw a Kia Rio with a roll bar in it And it was real too, the back seat was removed and it was welded in.

I figured maybe they race it or something so I googled it. First link I found basically said it shouldnt be street legal its so slow. i sure hope there was something big under the hood

It's to help keep the car from losing it's shape when the semi truck going the speed limit on the highway doesn't realize the piece of crap kia in front of him is only doing 35 and plows into the back of it.
